Carbon Hoax by Fossil Fuel Corporations is on us.

David Pope's Cartoon published with Fairfax Media, 15th January, gives the other side of the great coal shares price hoax.

Meanwhile frightened fossil fuel corporations keep quiet, as they know that their  share price is dependent on global warming not being acted upon. They continue to behave as if we still have unlimited global capacity for burning more and more carbon based fuels

Our money protection institution,  ASIC, has turned the law enforcement on  Johnathan Morlay as if he were a terrorist. What ever more can they hope to learn from their investigation?  I can offer them some basic climate science books.

Surely Jonathan was not going to make money from "Shorting" deals on Coal share price, by creating a "true" media release, that finance for the project really should be refused.  Shorting fossil fuel shares may eventually prove be a great long term wealth strategy.

As already publicized by many climate scientists, the financial value of burning the greater proportion of remaining Coal, Gas and Oil reserves is negative.  It would cost us more in the long term, in induced global warming, than we would gain in short term energy.  Fossil fuels are now an amazing example of how our long term wealth could increase more by doing nothing, by leaving them in the ground. Australia should stop investing in ruining our land, air and climate by fossil fuel extraction.  Australian per capita share of global carbon burning credits to keep under 2 degrees of global warming, runs out in a few years.  It expired long ago if our many years of coal exports are included.

Our political and financial institutions betray us by not acting on this well known information, by doing business as usual. Our laws and regulations, especially concerning environment, are largely ghost written by corporations, for benefit of business, following an unlimited economic growth paradigm as usual.

These are mainstream climate science findings. They are straight forward deductions of physics and chemistry, not the crazy ideas of climate activist loonies and "extremists".

CEOs of fossil energy companies know what  they are doing and are aware of long-term consequences of continued  business as usual. In my opinion, these CEOs should be tried for  high crimes against humanity and nature."

-- James Hansen, head of NASA's Goddard Institute of Space  Studies in New York, 2008.  , on 20th anniversary of presenting threat of global warming to congress.

So when are we going to arrest the entire Business Council of Australia?

Because the David Pope cartoon is probably @copywrite by Fairfax, I have taken a private snapshot, and maybe ask for permission to show it.  It is right to the point. I will describe it here.

Corporate Coal CEO Office.  Two corporate execs are at a corporate computer desk, one is sitting down, creating a media release, which says :

 EARTH EXTENDS LOAN FACILITY

Planet Earth announced today that humanity's carbon loan facility has been extended indefinitely.

"You may continue to withdraw deposits from the carbon bank to fuel unlimited economic growth, fully unsecured against the environment of your grandchildren.", a spokesperson for the planet said.

Stadning executive, looks over executives shoulder:

"What if they start to suspect a hoax"

Executive creating the release:

"Just get on the phone and pretend to be Mother Nature!"

Or as our political and financial institutions like to have it, have our institutions and corporate puppet spokesperson come down very heavily on anyone who suggests that Australia's carbon riches are actually our carbon death warrants, as is continued business as usual.

I hope David Pope doesn't get fired for this, and other great cartoons, if Gina and J.Singleton get to have their coal mine way with Fairfax Media

Current value of stock exchanges around the world is related to the share price of fossil fuels. Stated reserves and mining prospects reported, represent a future energy and GDP capacity for all nations. Global GDP is based mostly on fossil fuel consumption. Various other industries would fail, without coal supplied electricity, and oil supplied energy for transport, and chemicals as industrial feedstock, in a chain reaction of value support.

Fossil fuel valuation is basis of all supported future wealth and consumption of the developed world. Its not surprising that the majority owners of shares and income derived directly from this, cannot be made to let go of its perceived value.

Famous biblical quote,  "It is easier for a camel to squeeze through an eye of a needle, than for a rich person to get into the kingdom of God".  According to online commentary, the needle is a narrow passageway or gate, and a camel loaded with packs of goods would not be able to pass. Likewise our society of consuming goods and services cannot get to sustainability heaven.

Likewise, it is easier for coal mine share holders to earn their large dividends, CEOs to keep highly paid jobs, publicly deny global warming,  than admit to the necessity of ending a large part of purported monetary wealth.

It is easier for politicians to boast of their national earnings and well being, rather than admit how most of it is based upon fossil fuel burning, that needs to be st stopped now. It is easier to delay and deny the need for political action, and magic up a future Carbon Capture and Storage cure, than to use this threatened wealth to pay for an urgent transition to a renewable energy based economy.

It is easier for the USA to boost its military greatness, and drone missile prowess, backed by fossil fuel usage, for competitive global resource plunder, and for Australia to side with them, than for these nations to bite the bullet, and switch to a path towards local sustainability. Despite rising prices of all goods and services, related to the rising cost of energy, their national consumption and waste is still massive. Eventually these economies will tend to collapse, as the Energy Returned on Energy Originally Invested falls for global oil supply, and extreme climate makes agriculture untenable.

Climate activists are going up against the current basis of civilization of the developed world.  Its no wonder we get a bad hearing.
