A gut full of media crap from climate change denialists

More on the WhiteHavens prank, as we hear a gut full of crap in the media, from the climate change denialists in the Australian Labor Party and the Liberal Party.

"Acting Opposition Leader Warren Truss says the prank cost the savings of Australian families, and has called on Labor to reassess its relationship with the Greens because of their support of the action."

No, it was rich business people like Mr Tinkler who profit from coal global warming activities, that are more likely to have lost stashed slush fund savings.

Senior Labor MP Joel Fitzgibbon, whose electorate covers the NSW Hunter Valley, wants ASIC to make an example of Mr Moylan so it will act as a deterrent to other activists.

ASIC commissioner Greg Tanzer told 7.30 the country depended on the integrity of the stock exchange.

No, the ALP is out for blood and money.  The Australian country and its people depend on the integrity of its environment and climate, not the well being of rich stock exchange financiers.

Mr Truss says it is being "utterly simplistic" to suggest the fires are a result of climate change, arguing that Australia's climate is "changeable".

No, Mr Truss is completely out of touch with current climate reality. The salaries of his political backers depend on it. Temperature and weather statistics say we are in an entirely new and hotter climate regime.

On Monday, Prime Minister Julia Gillard said it was not appropriate to blame climate change on any one particular weather event, but added "we do know over time that as a result of climate change we are going to see more extreme weather events and conditions".

No, we are seeing them now. Julia Gillards attitude is "let coal business fiddle while Australia burns".

Indeed a large proportion of company market value on the Australian Stock Exchange is built upon increasing the rate of resource consumption.  This has made it especially difficult to get people from across the political spectrum to accept the idea that it might be in our own interests to constrain resource consumption.
